The National Conference on Quality and Standards of Nonferrous Metals and the 2015 Annual Meeting of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Nonferrous Metals was held at the Beijing Conference Center from November 11 to 14, 2015. Nearly 600 representatives from over 300 enterprises in the nonferrous metals industry across China attended the conference.
The first session of the conference was presided over by Fan Shunke, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and Chairman of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Nonferrous Metals. Chen Quanxun, Counselor of the State Council and President of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, Yin Minghan, Deputy Director and Member of the Party Leadership Group of the National Standardization Administration, and Wang Haidong, Deputy Director of the Quality Management Department of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The second session of the conference was presided over by Zhang Long, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. Zhu Yuhua, Secretary General of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Nonferrous Metals, presented the 2015 annual work report of the committee. The report summarized that the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Nonferrous Metals has consistently adhered to the working principle of "enterprise-centered and market-oriented", adapted to the new normal, led the new normal, actively served the national strategy of "the Belt and Road Initiative", and focused on "accelerating industrial transformation and upgrading, resolving overcapacity, and promoting scientific and technological innovation". It has studied and proposed new measures and action plans for the standardization work of nonferrous metals, achieved remarkable results, and made significant contributions to the sustained and healthy development of the nonferrous metals industry. The report also informed the meeting of the work priorities and ideas for the next year's standardization of nonferrous metals, mainly including: adapting to the new situation of standardization reform and creating a new model for nonferrous metals standardization work; leveraging advantages to strive for further improvements in the international work of nonferrous metals standardization; emphasizing full-process management of standard formulation and revision, improving the basic construction of standardization, and continuing to improve standard quality; and completing the formulation of the "13th Five-Year Development Plan for Standardization of the Nonferrous Metals Industry".
After the conference, a plenary meeting of the sub-technical committees was held, during which work summaries were presented, the standard projects completed and reviewed in 2015 by each sub-technical committee were finalized, the secretariat's work report was discussed, the national standards, industry standards, and association standard plan projects for nonferrous metals for 2016-2017 and the responsible drafting units were deliberated and determined, a batch of standard drafting tasks were assigned, and a group review, pre-review, and discussion of a batch of standard projects were conducted. At the plenary meeting of the Sub-Technical Committee on Nonferrous Heavy Metals, our company submitted the project proposal materials for the national standard "Copper Alloy Bars for Hot Die Forging" and defended the proposal. Our company will also actively participate in the formulation and revision of the three national standards: "Copper and Copper Alloy Wires", "Drawn Copper and Copper Alloy Bars", and "Wear-Resistant Brass Bars".
